If you want to see the new Palettini MAY release ‘stamples’ from the beginning, start with this post from earlier in the week. I literally picked up my set at Pat’s house (she owns and operates Technique Junkies) on the way to the airport so I could work with them this week. I’ll be featuring the new stamps each day, during this week on my website. I called this one ‘-ish’ because there are a couple more stamps to show you from the release, but they weren’t in my package! So I’ll show you one of mine (Palettini) and another of the other Technique Junkies’ May Releases that I got to play with at the last stamp convention:
PDxxx Art Mistakes (momentarilly not listed on the website, will update later this afternoon).
I inked the P010 Travel Documents background stamp with Stazon Jet Black. Then I placed a detailed stencil from Art Anthology over the top, and floated a skim coat of Frost Sorbet over the top. Once this was dry, I added another layer of Honolulu Blue Sorbet in the upper left corner. Finally I finished off the background by spraying Art Anthology Colorations in Honey Bee, Patience and Grape Soda to the background. The Frost Sorbet paint resisted the color, leaving the detailed areas still blank. I wish you could feel the texture on here! I stamped the sentiment with Gothic Purple Stazon Midi and edged it with Blue Hawaii Stazon Midi. I stamped the brush from PS001 Artist Tool Set in Ganache Stazon Midi and colored it in using Copic markers. As a last touch, I added some silver Wink of Stella to the metal ferule of the paint brush image, and attached it with foam tape. It shows up better in person.
I made this tag at the last stamp convention I attended, with Technique Junkies, in Akron, Ohio. This background features P010 Travel Documents (can you tell I love this stamp?), and a lovely new stamp from Technique Junkies called Old Friends. I stamped both with Stazon in Jet Black. Then I had a little bit of fun with P020 Wasted stamp, stamping it with Art Anthology’s Frosted Sorbet Paint. This gave a nice random raised texture. The paints are dimensional. I also brushed Frost on lightly over the sentiment to make sure it would draw a bit more focus. Then I sprayed over the top with Art Anthology Colorations sprays in Waimea Bay and Grape Soda.
Thanks for looking! I’ll be adding more cards next week when the last set of stamps arrive from the May Release. Today’s the last day for the 15% off though – get shopping!
