If you want to see the new Palettini MAY release ‘stamples’ from the beginning, start with this post from earlier in the week. I literally picked up my set at Pat’s house (she owns and operates Technique Junkies) on the way to the airport so I could work with them this week. I’ll be featuring the new stamps each day, during this week on my website. The next two are:
PD013 On the Mend (a sentiment I created to coordinate with the P008 Sewing Pattern background stamp)
I inked the background stamp with Momento in Rich Cocoa, and stamped it on a muted patterned paper. Then I added some highlights to the sewing pattern with Copics, going over the entire image with a Copic Wide E31 to make it look like pattern tissue paper. I stamped the sentiment in Stazon Midi Ganache color. Finally, I added a touch of silver Wink of Stella to the sewing needle. It shows up better in person.
This background features a lovely vase filled with roses and a butterfly, surrounded by script and framed with distressed textures. I wanted to make a very feminine card. As is a habit of mine, to make this card, I inked the stamp with Momento Rich Cocoa over a patterned paper with colored vertical strips that would coordinate with my coloring. This allows me to ignore the background and focus on the elements inside the collage. I colored the images with Copic markers, using W1 and W3 for the vase to give it just a subtle difference from the background, to appear like concrete or stone. This stamp image has a lot of cross-hatching to provide clues for shading so that if you are using transparent media to color it, all the work is done for you! Once again, this stamp shows the quality of Technique Junkies stamps. Every detail of my design comes through. Love love love.
Thanks for looking! I’ll be adding more cards all week.
