Badges of Rank – and remembering those that perished
Our local pack had their ceremony tonight, to award badges of rank to the new Tiger, Wolf and Bear scouts in the den. It is hard to convey to small children the sadness that we feel about the Scouts who perished in the Iowa tornado -- but my son responded to the ceremony by saying that he wanted to learn about camping, and about saving lives.
