Our local pack had their ceremony tonight, to award badges of rank to the new Tiger, Wolf and Bear scouts in the den. It is hard to convey to small children the sadness that we feel about the Scouts who perished in the Iowa tornado — but my son responded to the ceremony by saying that he wanted to learn about camping, and about saving lives. That is a fitting tribute from a boy of seven.
Our thoughts are with the families of the boys of Nebraska and Iowa that were injured and perished in the tornado that devastated their camp.
There is nothing I can say that would accurately convey what I'm feeling. But my thoughts are with you.
