Whether it was Christmas, Hannukah or Kwanzaa (I can’t spell anything, can I?) What presents did YOU receive this year?
Isn’t it funny the things we get excited about when we are grownups?? My husband was at least smart enough NOT to wrap the new cookie sheets and try to call them a present. He knows better! LOL!
The kids had a wonderful Christmas. I feel so blessed that we can provide for them. Who knows what the future will bring? Ah heck. We spoiled them like crazy. But it was fun! They are only little once.
It is also nice to have time together as a family. My husbnad really does travel extensively and I notice when he is AROUND more than when he is away. Isn’t that horrible?
So on Christmas Eve, we were at the mall, taking the kids to visit with Santa and get the annual picture. Afterwards, I asked DH to give me some time to go pick out a present for my dearest friend. I suggested he take the kids up to the food court. Well I came out of the first shop and there they were again. He said they wanted to go to Burger King. Helloooooo. A mall has plenty of choices. Why must we take them somewhere else? But I’m not going to belabor the point. I just told him I still needed time to shop. He decided to take the kids to the pet store and look at the puppies. Once again, I’m not going to point out the obvious flaws in this plan…
You know what happened.
Meet Blitzen.
Our unexpected, completely fluffy and adorable Bichon Frise / Poodle mix. He got a home for Christmas.
Besides this bit of white fluff, I got a lens for my camera, a dremel-style tool, and a trip to IKEA for another high cabinet for my craft area – which included (best of all), time to clean and organize my craft area.
I’ve got the two male friends’ of DH’s coming over tomorrow to help lift this monster cabinet into its new residence, the corner of my craft area. And I am feeling a blissful sense of organization coming over me.. It’s an IKEA AKURUM 24”x88” pantry style unit with pull out drawers and some cool Rationell pull-out wire baskets too. I love IKEA!
I hope your holidays were merry and bright and that you welcome in the New Year with someone that you love.
