I have two friends who are going through some changes. One seems sure of her path. The other was on the right path, but was shown this truth in an abrupt manner. Each of them will be just fine — but still, a card wouldn't hurt.
I love this sentiment:
trust your heart
…the winds of change bring treasures unknown…embrace change..
It is from the stamp set D1375 Treasures from CTMH, and seemed perfect for my card tonight.
I colored this image on watercolor paper with PanPastels. PanPastels are artists' pastels – aka chalk on steriods. They blend like butter – are low dust and super addictive and fun to use. I use them in my encaustic wax projects, to add color to white beeswax or encaustic medium. I also use them to add more subtle, smooth shading to my Copic projects. But for this card – I let them stand on their own so you can see how lovely they are.
I typically color an image using a combination of three. For example – the magnolia is colored with:
- Magenta Tint
- Magenta
- Magenta Shade
I like to work with the colors in this manner. This video from the manufacturer's YouTube channel will show you how to accomplish this:
So now I just need to make another one!
I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day (U.S.) and I would like to point out two blogs that you should visit. First, PanPastel is having a giveaway on their blog. And second is a Halloween Scrapbook Layout that I made for the Tattered Angels blog today.
Thanks for looking.
