Welcome back! I've shoveled a path to and around the car — and retrieved some things to play with. Including – a little house! This is a Sweet Chips Little Folding House by Crafty Secrets.
It's in move-in condition. It just needs 'landscaping' and some occupants. There are several fairies and woodland creatures stamped and ready to inhabit the house. They just need to be colored (with my Copic Markers, of course). The front doorway has an adorable jeweled knob with a magnetic closure.
So let's take a tour of my little house.
First off, I couldn't leave the house as is. I needed to expand the floorplan a bit. So I cut it apart at two seams, and joined them together along with some distressed tags using the Bind-It-All. Here is the view from the top, with the roof removed.
On the roof itself, I cut out a circle shape, to fit inside of the chipboard frame accent piece. I adhered a transparency domed frame inside the shape and used Distress Stickles in Walnut Stain to 'caulk' it into place.
I also added some beaded trim, with little pearls in a scallop shape that mimicked the roof shape along the edges.
I used papers from Prima's Whisper line to cover the chipboard house with Matte Gel Medium. I used Glimmer Mist in Creme de Chocolate and Sweet Pea to color the accent pieces. Finally I used Glimmer Mist in Dew Drop and a just a touch of Bronze to all of the elements once they were adhered to the base.
On the back you can see one of the Bind-It-All coil bindings. I've also joined all the pieces with a Hasp Hinge, secured with a knotted ribbon.
Tonight I will post the final house. The Glimmer Glass needs to make its debut, as well as some 'landscaping' using Glimmer Screens.
Thanks for looking!
