I came across a photo of Neil and I and thought YAY!! A photo of me! A photo of us! On a date. WOW!
And then I found the other photos that went with it and it made me think back to this evening – 7 years ago. At this point we had been married for 14 years, and we FINALLY had our family. Things felt just PERFECT. So I used them for a scrapbook page. The journaling reads:
‘For the first fourteen years of our marriage, we had plenty of time to be alone as a couple, travel and have dinners together. While sometimes I miss those dinners for two, it’s evenings like this that make me cherish how our love has grown to include these sweet little children. Brianna provided the entertainment, and the twins slept peacefully right through our dinner. A perfect night out.

What cracks me up most is that Neil remembered THIS detail, when I showed him the pictures:
‘Oh yeah, they made that dish with the fresh poblano peppers. We’d call them on the phone to see if they had them in’.
Pretty good memory. Just a weird detail!
Quick closeup of the cuties:
