Giveaway reminder – and a Louisiana Labor Day Retreat!

August 5, 2009 by admin 5 Comments

Just a quick reminder that the Hanna Stamps post (below) and giveaway will close on Friday.  Make sure to post on the 'Brick Wall' post below!

And I am so thrilled to annouce that I will be teaching Sept. 4-6th at the Scrapfest Fall Retreat in Mandevile (New Orleans area), Louisiana.  I have several workshops scheduled and I will be doing make it take its at the Tickle Me Pink booth as well throughout the weekend.  What a great way to spend the weekend!  It will be my first trip to Louisiana.  I hope to make it a habit.

And we still have Monday off to hit the parade with the fam.

Here is one of the new classes I developed for the event.

As I was demonstrating at CHA for Tattered Angels, the fabulous Liz Hicks showed me a technique that I just had to incorporate.  This layout was inspired by her.   Lots of Glimmer Mist and Prima on here, and TONS of textural interest between the flocking, glittering, cardboard OH MY!  I can't wait to teach it.

And as I mentioned on Facebook, I had quite the find at the library this week!

And I was just looking for books with the kids when I spotted a little sign on top of this card file listing it For Sale.  Let's see… 72 little drawers, 5 inches by 15 inches deep.  Um, yes!  Now I just need to get this thing hauled home.  I went back just to confirm my love for the unit, and placed some particular sized objects inside the drawers to see how they would fit.  Oh, and there are three pull-out work surfaces in the middle of the unit.  How clever!  Loving it.  I'm clearing out a spot along the corner of my studio!!

So support your local library (and see if they are getting rid of card files).

Love your LO and what an awesome find! I live in Baton Rouge but I will not be able to attend scrapfest this time. You will love Louisiana! Remember it is HOT down here (even in Sept!)

Oh i’m SOOOOOO jealous! I’ve been on the hunt for a card catalog from a library but none of the libraries around me have any! BOO! I had to settle on this big black plastic and metal contraption from the hardware store (meant for storing nuts and bolts, etc etc) But i’m still on the hunt! 🙂 Great find!

Profile photo of adminSally Lynn often mixes her love of creating and teaching art with her high-tech side – blending a love of handmade art with hybrid-digital media in what she playfully calls her ‘studio lab’. Every now and then her large-format printer is subjected to printing on a surface that definitely is not listed in the owners’ manual.

She is a maven for studio organization, using her abilities to use spreadsheets and databases to bring order from chaos. “It’s marvelous when the right and left brain actually work together in the studio!” Read More…
