The ScrapPink event at momento was wonderful.
Our guest instructor, Cheryl Mezetti’s bubbling laughter was so infectious and she filled the room with joy. Not only did she make me smile everytime I heard her laugh, I literally was grinning from ear to ear. She shared so much of herself and the ladies at the classes responded in kind. I saw Cheryl making personal connections with so many of the attendees. I felt honored and inspired and I felt like I could just sprout wings and fly in her presence. She is that uplifting!
As always, I hoped to spend more time on my own projects, but I also am now owning a truth about myself. I don’t do class projects. Not in class. I started doing the project on Friday and just going along doing the same thing that was being presented to us, and about the 2nd page in — I stopped. I am far happier listening to the instruction, getting inspired by the creative energy — and then taking the project HOME to work on and make my own. I’ve joked about being a ‘Take and Make’ girl, rather than a ‘Make and Take’, but it is my thing. I own it. I just wouldn’t get the joy out of the projects unless I got into my creative muse and started going with it. And I cannot tap into it when I’m in the middle of a crop room. I need my own studio to get a visit from my midnight muse.
This isn’t the case for Sue (and her friend) – they were in the corner going wild making the leaf project their own. How much fun they were having!
And it was great to see Marlene again — it has been AGES since she was at my house and she got my one note that I sent out to my old distribution list about the event. I’m so glad she found momento this weekend. And I’m so glad to have reconnected with her. What a fun gal.
I enjoyed showing my ink explorations to anyone that would watch – and I am hoping that Cheryl (I’m talking to you, girl!) will get out the ink that she has and play with it! :o) *wagging my finger in your direction*
Although usually creativity comes much more naturally, but with all the loading / unloading and standing during the demos my back was really hurting me. I dislike taking medication of any kind, so I was really happy that Christine of Relax Your Back (and Michael, who wasn’t present but came down for the weekend for private appointments) came to momento for the ScrapPink event. I took full advantage of a chair massage TWICE on Saturday. That is how much it was bothering me. When I taught in Orlando, I had a standing midnight appointment with Michael. That man keeps me running during those marathon teaching events. How much I wish they lived in Connecticut again.
Well, I need to whip my house into shape real quick and then put some projects on my website for a retreat coming up in three weeks, in New Hampshire wth Scrappin’ Soul Sisters. I cannot wait to see Deb and Jackie again.
