Snow Angel – a technique-laden layout

I left some samples at CHA.  Egads.  And I didn't take pictures.  Double egads.  So… among these I had to remake this layout which is part of my current teaching roster.  It's a single page layout – but baby, I'm pouring on the techniques with this one.

First we pull out the Glimmer Mist and Misting Screens (snowflakes) and attack the blue background cardstock (Harmony by Doris Castle for Prima).  It has a subtle print on it with swirls which I found perfect for a snowy layout.  I misted over and stamped with the glimmer screens in Frost (blue) and Silver Glimmer Mist.  The KAPOW of the Glimmer Mist is always difficult to photograph, but we go from flat to fab in misting seconds. šŸ™‚

Next, we attack the transparency.  This is a Clear Paintable (by Iron Orchid Designs for Prima).  I used the Copic Airbrush System and a violet and blue marker to mist over the icicle screen (at top) and the snowflake screens (left and bottom).  And then I misted the Times Alphabet chipboard letters (Prima) with a bit of Frost GM too.  I love how these look!

Lastly, I placed Center Kisses (champagne colored) randomly on the layout and covered the top and bottom portion of the Voila die-cut felt 'ribbon' with blue 'Arctic Ice' Stickles by Ranger.  It definitely needed some glitz and glamour when paired up with the gorgeous poinsettia flower from Prima.  WOWZERS.

And finally a bit of 'movement' added with the Say It In Crystals swirls, also by Prima to the top left and bottom right of my photograph.

This class is part of my 1st Quarter 2009 roster as 'Snow Angel'.  I hope to see you on the road!
