I have been very bad at making cards recently – and so yesterday I opened up my scraps bin and pulled out some card fronts and bases, and proceeded to make a few. Both are already adressed. Man, that feels good! Of course tomorrow is probably a postal holiday, right? Ah well… they will go out this week!
This one utilizes the palette stamping technique with one of my favorite stamp sets from Close To My Heart, Sunflower Garden. One day someone will pry this set from my gnarled fingers — but not today!
I layered a Bazzill Bloom in cream with Petaloo flower, with center covered with a seaside mix of micro beads in Glossy Accents.
And this one is a bit more freeform and collagey. I started watercoloring the Fairy stamps from Crafty Secrets and then the embellishments and ink started to fly… I guess they cast a spell on me? :o)
Background is watercolor paper with Ranger Color Washes, spritzed with Perfect Pearls mist of Sunflower Sparkle. Impossible to capture in a scan. I framed the piece with tiny crystal lines. The frame and wings are from Renaissance Art Stamps. The heart charm is from ArtGirlz.
And finally, another background that came from my color wash experiments. I used a Distress Ink water technique to stamp the images on the background and onto the focal point. Layered a Hambly journaling bit in Orange over the top to frame it. Quote stamp is from Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous.
