It’s 3:45am.  Do you know where your frosting is?

While I am NOT going to quit my ‘day job’ anytime soon for a career in cake decorating, I am really looking forward to tomorrow’s (oh, I mean today, in a matter of like 4 hours!) response to the two cakes for the twinkie’s 8th birthday parties.

First, the little man requested Spongebob.  And let me tell you, that frosting is NOT a forgiving and easy to manipulate medium.  Especially with that cake under there…

Still, I think he turned out ok.

And my little diva is having a party at the hair salon, with nails, hair and a fashion show.  So in true dressup fashion, I decided to try and make her a party purse cake.  The decoration is elementary at best, but the sparkling ‘gold’ painted accessories will give it a passing grade.  I tried to braid the handle.  Fondant does not love me.

It was a definite challenge – but the results turned out ok too.

Ok, time for those 3 1/2 hours of sleep.  Good night!
