I'm playing catchup on the Documented Life Project.  The challenge for Week 1 is here if you are new to this process or want to play along.

January 1 Challenge (Week One) – photograph, sketch, paint or incorporate your front door.

Here is the page that I created for this challenge.

I sketched the front door of my house in graphite and then used a combination of Faber-Castell Gelatos and markers to color it in with a white Montana paint pen for accents.  I stamped the word 'home' in Memento Luxe Black, and attached the phrase, 'surrounded by love'.  Lastly, I adhered a key with a heart shaped handle to the door using Beacon 3-in-1 adhesive.

I love having this page face me every time I open my journal.  It's like an artistic 'Welcome' rug to the work inside.
