Copic Various reinkers on glossy cardstock, striped and 'plaided' in two different color studies of Art & Soul. Dribbled with bits of blending solution and airbrushed over Tattered Angels ironworks screens (in two opposite corners). A bit of doodling with the black pen and surrounded by Kandi Corp black wax.
I'll admit I am definitely in recovery mode tonight after spending the night in the Charlotte airport last night. My connection to New York LGA decided to leave right on time, rather than wait for the few of us that had been held on the ground in Richmond due to issues at Charlotte. Gotta love that ontime departure… NOT. There were at least 100 people sitting around the airport last night – a statement of the lack of 'customer first' policy that strands people when the terminating flights just leave without them…
But this couldn't diminish how much I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Glenny of the Art & Soul retreat, as well as Maria, Richard and Jenny of Collage (of the two fabulous stores in Oregon that were on site this weekend). I messed around with a little something I'd been dabbling with in-between demonstrations. Hope you like it.
I did demos and led a make n take project for several enthusiastic ladies on Friday and Saturday afternoon.
I met Susan Pickering Rothamel of USArtQuest who is an inspirational tour de force. She handed me some large mica pieces which immediately became the subject of some Copic airbrushing experiments. They take the color beautifully! Unfortunately my cell phone is still in the Saab – which is now parked at JFK for hubby's travel of the week – so I'll follow up on that when I find another piece to airbrush for you.
And I also got to meet Michael deMeng whom I will be fortunate to take a workshop with at Absolutely Everything (Topsfield, MA) in mid-June. I'm taking the 'Trashy Novels' workshop. What fun.
Happy Sunday, everyone. SL
