Palettini NEW Stamp Release with Technique Junkies, Part 2

May 6, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

As I mentioned in my last post, these stamp designs are so new, I literally picked up my set at her house on the way to the airport so I could work with them this week. I’ll be featuring the new stamps each day, during this week on my website.  The next two are:
P024-P010-SD424web
P024 Let’s Face It 3
I call this image the ‘Wise Woman’. She knows. Period. So to communicate this further, I inked this stamp with Momento Luxe in Toffee Crunch. Then I inked up Travel Documents in Espresso Brown and ‘kissed’ that stamp over the top to cover the solid parts of the stamp (her hair) with ‘wisdom’. This reverses the text from the stamp, but the point isn’t readability, as much as ‘there’s a lot going on in that head of hers’. I used Copic markers to color her face and apply makeup. I stamped SD424 Write Your Own Story in Stazon Midi Ganache color. Finally, I added a jeweled sticker to frame both corners, almost like a wing and a crown. It feels like she deserves these embellishments.
P026-PD003-PS004web
P026 Return to Sender
This background features a bunch of vintage postage stamps and cancellation marks. I wanted to make a masculine, patriotic card. To make this card, I inked the stamp with several colors of Stazon Midi: starting with an overall application of Cloudy Sky, followed by Claret and Midnight Blue. Then I inked up the PD003 Hot Rod stamp with Claret, and swiped a bit of Ganache over the tires on the stamp. I inked the edges with Midnight Blue. The word ‘forever’ is taken from one of the PS004 Mae West sentiments. Sorry boys. She gets the last word, as always. To vintage it up a bit more, I sprayed Salted Caramel Colorations from Art Anthology over the top. The embellishment is a postal cancellation ‘Say It In Crystals’ jeweled sticker from Prima.
Thanks for looking! I’ll be adding more cards all week.

About Sally Lynn MacDonald

Profile photo of adminSally Lynn often mixes her love of creating and teaching art with her high-tech side – blending a love of handmade art with hybrid-digital media in what she playfully calls her ‘studio lab’. Every now and then her large-format printer is subjected to printing on a surface that definitely is not listed in the owners’ manual.

She is a maven for studio organization, using her abilities to use spreadsheets and databases to bring order from chaos. “It’s marvelous when the right and left brain actually work together in the studio!” Read More…
