MISTI May-nia!

May 14, 2016 by admin 524 Comments

The winner is Barbara Lassiter! Congratulations. I sent an e-mail to the account used to make the comment on this post. Enjoy your Mini MISTI. And to everyone else – thank you for participating! Remember to check blog.mysweetpetunia.com for new drawings throughout the remainder of MISTI May-nia!

My Sweet Petunia has invited dozens of your favorite bloggers to participate in MISTI May-nia – which is a daily giveaway of Mini MISTIs. Every single day in May! Today is my turn…

instagram

I have a brand of stamps called Palettini with Technique Junkies. Many of the images I design are fully collaged backgrounds. These can be ‘one and done’ with a single color stamping and then embellish as you like, or more complex stamping as available with a great tool like the MISTI.

Both of these cards were made with the MISTI.

ParisBackground

The first card is a more ‘solid’ stamp design using my Le Tour Eiffel stamp and a Paris sentiment.

floralbkgndweb

Solid stamping is more straight-forward than the floral background card, which has more open areas and a lot more detail. The second card is made with my Vintage Floral Collage background stamp. But the MISTI makes both styles easy to accomplish with precision and detail.  I made a video to show how the second card was made. Enjoy!

The last step I did was to pastel color in the images with Copic Markers to make them ‘glow’. I used YG11 / YG03 for the leaves, BV000 / BV00 for the purple flowers, RV000/ RV00 for the pink flowers and BV00 / BG01 for the butterfly.

The Misti is a great tool.
I often print a sentiment and part of it is missing.
Before I had to start over – now I can just re-ink
and not worry about being off-target.
I would love to win this one. I’m often
trying to do several projects at once – this
will make it easier for me.

The Misti looks like an amazing stamping tool. Thank you for your demonstration and the opportunity to try and win a Misti. I would also like to say how beautiful the stamp was that you used. I love the one stamp collage idea. Although I have always liked collages, I have never really made that type of card because of never knowing where to put what stamp. You have done it all for us in ONE stamp. How fantastic! Will have to get one and try it myself.

Wow! Today is my first time of seeing or even hearing about this tool! It is awesome and your cards are so stunning. Thank you for sharing. I would LOVE to win one of these tools. Due to cataracts and stigmatism, I have a very hard time placing my stamps in the correct position (they always wind up crooked).

Instagram post 2191587425254464406_392177945 I finished my #resin #necklace, which started with a @gelpress print in the bright #copper #bezel from @ranger_ink and ended up including a wing element that my Mother-in-law gave me over the Thanksgiving holiday from a broken necklace. Sheet music #collaged into the resin says 'Cresc. molto' which roughly translated means 'growing a lot' and has become my talisman and phrase for 2020.
